Synopsis

Cyril Blackwood leads a solitary life cataloging forgotten artifacts until a jagged puzzle piece arrives in the mail, triggering fragmented memories of a life he never lived. Each clue pulls him deeper into a web of government cover-ups and corporate espionage stretching back to his childhood. As bodies drop and allies betray him, Cyril must decide if the truth is worth the destruction it will unleash. The trail leads from dusty archives to fortified black sites, forcing Cyril to confront the woman who may be his mother, a handler, or his greatest enemy. With every solved fragment the stakes escalate: the secret he guards could topple regimes or condemn millions. Time is running out as relentless pursuers close in, each revelation rewriting his identity and forcing impossible choices. In the end Cyril assembles the full puzzle only to discover the final piece is himself; he must choose whether to burn the evidence and reclaim anonymity or broadcast the truth and become its first casualty.

INT. DUSTY ARCHIVE READING ROOM - NIGHT

Rain hammers the skylight. CYRIL BLACKWOOD, 38, rumpled tweed jacket, sits alone beneath a single lamp, sorting yellowed files. A MANILA ENVELOPE slides under the door. No footsteps.

Cyril opens it. Inside: a jagged ceramic puzzle piece, edges scorched. He turns it over. Etched on the back: "C.B. - 1997."

His eyes widen. A sudden migraine hits. FLASH: a child's hand pressing the same piece into wet cement. Sirens. A woman's scream.

Cyril drops the piece. It clatters. Lights flicker. Outside, a dark sedan idles, wipers slicing the rain.

CYRIL
(whispering)
That never happened.

He pockets the piece. The lamp dies.
