An amnesiac alien awakens in a suburban backyard and must decode Earth's alien symphony of sounds to find his way home before hunters silence him forever.
Synopsis
Zylph wakes tangled in a hammock, his oversized ears twitching at the roar of leaf blowers, car horns, and TikTok ringtones. Each new noise triggers vivid hallucinations of his forgotten homeworld, pulling him on a cross-country quest that turns everyday America into a sonic minefield. Along the way he befriends a jaded podcaster who thinks he's an internet hoax, while shadowy agents close in, convinced his ears can hear national secrets. As Zylph masters mimicry and sound manipulation, his growing affection for human chaos collides with the terrifying realization that Earth's din is deliberately engineered to mask an interstellar prison. The film crescendos in a Times Square showdown where every billboard and speaker becomes a weapon or a clue.
The story
Zylph wakes disoriented in a backyard and begins cataloging Earth's overwhelming sounds, drawing the attention of curious neighbor Lena and government trackers. His first attempts to blend in spark viral videos and escalating paranoia.
Teaming with skeptical podcaster Ray, Zylph infiltrates a sound-research facility and learns Earth's noise is a deliberate containment field; betrayals and chases mount as his memories return in explosive bursts.
In a climactic Times Square symphony, Zylph weaponizes the city's roar to shatter the field, reveals his true mission, and chooses to stay, broadcasting a new global frequency of connection.

Cold open
EXT. SUBURBAN BACKYARD - NIGHT Crickets. A distant highway hum. A single porch light flickers over a plaid hammock. ZYLPH, 28, hairless, ears like satellite dishes, bolts upright. His pupils dilate. The hammock creaks. ZYLPH (whispering) What... is that? A leaf blower roars to life next door. Zylph clutches his head; the sound becomes a vision of crashing purple waves. He stumbles toward the fence, ears twitching like radar. A car alarm detonates. He mimics the wail perfectly, then laughs in terror and delight. ZYLPH It's alive. All of it. A bedroom window slides open. A kid's face appears. Zylph freezes, ears folding flat against his skull like a startled cat. The kid gasps. Zylph bolts into the darkness, footsteps syncing to the distant bass of a passing truck.
Why now
In an era of constant notification pings, algorithmic outrage, and noise-canceling everything, audiences crave a story that weaponizes sound itself to ask whether we're drowning in the very signals meant to connect us.
