Synopsis

In a near-future Hollywood where legacy studios still greenlight films through endless committees and paper scripts, a twenty-something outsider named Jax Reyes secretly builds a lean operation that finishes entire features in days. Studios panic as Jax's debut crushes their tentpoles at festivals, forcing an all-out war between analog gatekeepers and fluid new workflows. The battle reveals that the real enemy isn't technology but centuries-old habits that bleed time and money.

The story

Act I

Jax lands a viral short made in forty-eight hours and gets invited to pitch at a major studio; executives lecture him on process while he watches them waste a week on coffee and revisions.

Act II

Jax launches his full feature underground; studios retaliate with legal threats, smear campaigns, and poached talent, pushing Jax into a frantic race against bureaucratic sabotage.

Act III

Jax screens the finished film live to the world; the old guard collapses under public demand, forcing a humbled merger of old infrastructure and new speed that births a hybrid future.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY

A long mahogany table. SIX EXECUTIVES in identical navy suits stare at printed pages. Coffee cups multiply. VICTOR LANG, 58, taps a pen like a gavel.

VICTOR
We need another pass on page forty-seven. The tone feels too modern.

An ASSISTANT nods, already typing another memo. Outside the window, a drone streaks past carrying camera gear. No one looks up.

JAX (O.S.)
(voiceover)
They still measure progress in meetings per minute.

The drone vanishes. The executives keep circling the same sentence.

Why now

Audiences are watching legacy studios bleed billions on development hell while bedroom creators drop polished features overnight; this film captures the exact cultural fracture where speed finally topples ritual.
